Vallein Tercinier XO Vieille Reserve

ALC: 40 %
Bottled by: OB
Bottled: Unknown
Number of bottles: Unknown (70𝒄𝒍)

DESCRIPTION:
Tercinier is a Cognac house which exists since 1850 and already in the 5th generation. Probably one of the most famous houses. For the review, we have an XO and as they say on their website, the cognac has aged about 35 years. Quite old for an XO. It's a combination between Grande and Petite Champagne.

COLOUR:
Light mahogany.

NOSE:
The nose shows already, that we have here a well grown Cognac. Wood spices, soft vanilla notes and some raisins.

PALATE:
The palate is very elegant. I miss a little bit the wodiness, which the nose promised. Bananas and a little bit vanilla.

FINISH:
Medium-long finish, thanks to the woodiness. Very sweet finish with caramel, milk chocolate and yes, if you are looking for some floral notes, the finish shows some.

OVERALL IMPRESSION:
A nice XO from Tercinier. Maybe a litte higher ABV would pimp the result. I miss a little highlight on the palate. But stable anyway. For me the weight is more on the Petite Champagne side. It has not the typical flower notes, which I am used from the Grand Champagne. But this may also depends on the batch.

RESULT:
- 88/100 -
