Heute haben wir ein absolutes Highlight im Glas, das selbst erfahrene Cognac-Liebhaber aufhorchen lässt.

Es ist mal wieder Zeit für eine fantastische Abfüllung von Malternative Belgium. Wir verkosten den Mocquet Lot 97 – einen rund 27 Jahre alten Cognac aus der Grande Champagne (Mainxe-Gondeville).

Das absolute Highlight: Dieser edle Tropfen besteht zu 100 % aus Colombard-Trauben! In einer Region, die fast vollständig von der Ugni Blanc-Traube dominiert wird, ist das eine absolute Seltenheit und verspricht ein extrem spannendes Geschmacksprofil. 🍇

Die Abfüllung trägt den poetischen Titel „Le Frimas“ (morgendlicher Frost), was das wunderschöne Etikett mit der überzogenen Colombard-Rebe perfekt einfängt. Aber hält der Geschmack, was die Story verspricht?

Wir nehmen euch mit auf die Reise durch die Aromen: Von floralem Heidekraut und frischer Grapefruit in der Nase, über saftige Mirabelle und dunklen Nougat am Gaumen, bis hin zu einem Finish mit Zedernholz und Ingwer.

It is time once again for a fantastic bottling from Malternative Belgium. We are tasting the Mocquet Lot 97 – an approximately 27-year-old Cognac from the Grande Champagne (Mainxe-Gondeville).

The absolute highlight: This noble drop is made from 100% Colombard grapes! In a region that is almost entirely dominated by the Ugni Blanc grape, this is an absolute rarity and promises an extremely exciting flavor profile. 🍇

The bottling bears the poetic title 'Le Frimas' (morning frost), which is perfectly captured by the beautiful label featuring a frost-covered Colombard vine. But does the taste live up to the story?

We are taking you on a journey through the aromas: From floral heather and fresh grapefruit on the nose, to juicy mirabelle plum and dark nougat on the palate, all the way to a finish with cedar wood and ginger.
