DESCRIPTION:
This very old Cognac from Vallein Tercinier matured for over 60 years in oak barrels, before it was filled in a Dame Jeanne in 1995 and finally filled in the bottle in 2023. That's the reason why on the label the bottling date is 1995. Very unique timepiece and of course, special moment for me to try this masterpiece?! Let's find out.

COLOUR:
Amber-copper mix

NOSE:
I have vanilla and a wonderful combination between the spices and fresh fruits. Didn't expect to see mostly fresh fruits here. Cantaloupe, guava juice and forest honey. As well you have always beside this beautiful woodiness, which closes the gap, to be a perfect Cognac nose. At the second smell, I have even some minty freshness.

It's a very intense and complex nose. It may has only 40,6 % ABV, but there is so much aroma in this glass... Wow!

PALATE:
First a little bit dryness from the wood. Spices, yes and still fruity. Furthermore I have some licorice, herbalness, raisins and apricot.
Again, like the nose, complexity at its best.

FINISH:
I have this cherry-dark chocolate finish, with some pepper on top. Short to medium long and after a while you'll get the wood. But still very elegant and not too woody. After a few seconds, I get some nice espresso notes. Maybe the finish could have a little more action going on. But that's criticism at high level.

OVERALL IMPRESSION:
Indeed a very nice cognac. Don't find a lot points of criticism.
Only the finish can't hold the high level of the nose and palate.
