Domaine de Jouatmaou 2006

DESCRIPTION:

A young Bas Armagnac from Domaine de Jouatmaou.

So far, I only had the opportunity to taste the 1989 and the even younger 2014 vintage. The 1989 was a great experience.

As I got the 2006 as a sample, I don't have any additional information, as it is not listed on their website.

COLOUR:
Beautiful golden

NOSE:

First impression was quiet peachy. After some time, it develops more banana or very ripe mango flavors. But the peach is always showing up. Maybe some a hint of maple syrup.

PALATE:

Not that peachy as the nose promised. Here I have more like pineapple or candied orange. Maybe even some grapefruit showing up.

FINISH:

Long and warming finish.

Some spices, and a little chilly breeze there. The sweet feeling of the palate disappears now, and there is some nice licorice left.

OVERALL IMPRESSION:

A very nice young Armagnac. Would expect more freshness, but this doesn't effect the result. Well done!

RESULT:
