DESCRIPTION:
After tasting and reviewing the vintages 2006 and 1988 from the Domaine de Jouatmaou, we proceed with the Bas Armagnac from 1993 and in the next review the vintage from 1978.
COLOUR:
Peach
NOSE:
Colour = spoiler? In this case, yes. My first intention was peach. Peach all around. It continues to be very fruity. Some fresh strawberrys and dried mango. There are as well some roasted almonds passing by. The nose is quite complex for such an younger Armagnac.
PALATE:
The palate is still fruity but not as much as the nose. It's a little bit dryer. More dried fruits like pineapple or grapefruit.
FINISH:
Is a little bit boring, to be honest. Not much going on here. It's a very short and quite bitter finish.
OVERALL IMPRESSION:
The nose of this Armagnac is wonderful complex. But then, the palate and finish can't hold the high level. And I wouldn't say it's because of the low ABV. It's just not my taste.
RESULT:
- 77/100 -
