REVIEW # 12 - ARMAGNAC              19.01.2024

Domaine de Jean-Bon 1984

ALC: 53 %
Bottled by: OB
Bottled: unknown
Number of bottles: 30 (for Germany) (70𝒄𝒍)

DESCRIPTION:
The Domaine de Jean-Bon is located in the small village Toujouse and already in 4th generation. They have a farm and produce more than only Armagnac. Seems like to be on my bucket list for my next visit.

COLOUR:
Amber

NOSE:
Powerful and complex nose. A lot of dried fruits, like apricot, peaches, blackberry, raisins. Some vanilla and flowers passing by. Kind of a cooling freshness. As well I have a little touch of a rum here.

PALATE:
The palate is getting sweeter and sweeter and fruity again. Also some vanilla and white chocolate on the palate. Some glazed ginger and like the nose, complex and well balanced.

FINISH:
Powerful , warming and very long finish. Some strong spices like cardamom, herbs and maybe a little wet cellar taste at the far end.

OVERALL IMPRESSION:
For me the palate is sensational. But also the nose and the finish round it all off. It seems like this one is sold out on the German market. Maybe there will be more bottles in the near future. Hope so.

RESULT:
