Maison Fontan Hors d'âge

ALC: 42 %
Bottled by: OB
Bottled: Unknown
Number of bottles: Unknown (70𝒄𝒍)

DESCRIPTION:
Maison Fontan exists since 1907 and is already in the 4th generation. The hors d'âge bottling is a blend of 12 - 15 years old Armagnacs. They used only Ugni-Blanc grapes. It is reduced to 42 % and they highlight "the quality" of this blend. Well, then let's make the quality check.

COLOUR:
Caramel

NOSE:
The nose is very tropical. I have pineapple, coconut, banana and an intrusive vanilla. Also there is a breeze of honey passing by.

PALATE:
Oily and soft. The tropical fruits continue here. But it's more on the dry side. As well I have some black pepper here.

FINISH:
First dark chocolate and cappuccino. It takes a little bit but then you have the wood spices. But the wood is not engaging. It's continues the well balanced palate and nose.

OVERALL IMPRESSION:
It's a well balanced and smooth Cognac. Could have a little bit more complexity for 42 %. But definitely a recommandation.

RESULT:
